Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said the Centre has cleared India’s first underwater road-cum-rail tunnel between Gohpur and Numaligarh. Built beneath the Brahmaputra, the ₹18,662-crore project will cut travel time from six hours to 20 minutes and boost connectivity and national security.
