LPG Cylinder Price Increased by Tk 4.42 per Kg

The price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) has been set at Tk 108.83 per kilogram, up from Tk 104.41 in December. This means an increase of Tk 4.42 per kg. The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) announced the new prices on Sunday. According to the revised rates, the price of a 12-kg LPG cylinder, including VAT, has been fixed at Tk 1,306, which was Tk 1,253 in December—an increase of Tk 53. Earlier, the price was raised by Tk 38 from November to December. The price of LPG supplied by government companies remains unchanged. A 12.5-kg cylinder continues to be priced at Tk 825. The price of auto gas used in vehicles has been increased from Tk 57.32 per liter to Tk 59.80 per liter, marking a rise of Tk 2.48 per liter. BERC stated that the price adjustment has been made in line with the January Saudi Contract Prices (CP) for propane and butane announced by Saudi Aramco. For January, the CP of propane has been set at USD 520 per metric ton, while the CP of butane has been set at USD 525 per metric ton.
