Minister of Civil Service discusses strengthening institutional reform cooperation with British Ambassador
ADEN – SABA The Minister of Civil Service and Insurance Salem al-Awlaki held talks Tuesday via video conference with the British Ambassador to Yemen Abda Sharif. The talks tackled cooperation in the field of institutional reform, along with a number of issues related to service conditions. The meeting discussed efforts provided through the technical assistance mechanism to support the government’s direction, particularly in reforming the pension system, developing public institutions, and injecting young personnel based on professional standards. The meeting also touched on the new Saudi support provided to Yemen with Minister al-Awlaki praising its importance in continuing government reforms and improving services. The Minister of Civil Service commended the United Kingdom’s supportive role to government and its backing of efforts aimed at restoring state institutions and alleviating citizens’ suffering. He also praised the bilateral relations between the two countries. For her part, the British Ambassador affirmed her country’s commitment to continuing support for the Yemeni government and efforts to restore state institutions.
