New 22,000 sq. ft. grocery store is opening in an Alberta mountain town this week
Canmore is getting a brand-new grocery store, so now it’ll be even easier for locals and travellers to pick up their essentials in the mountain town. The new 22,000 sq. ft IGA store was first announced in 2024, at 300 Cascade Dr., as a new destination to buy everyday essentials, fresh produce, and high-quality products. Now, the time is finally here as IGA is set to open at 9 a.m. on Thursday, April 16, at Canmore’s The Gateway at Three Sisters development. In February, the development also got a brand-new Sobeys Liquor store. The new IGA store is just one of many popping up across Alberta. For those travelling from Calgary to the mountains, a new 170,000 sq. ft. Costco store is slated to open this fall, just west of the city. Still hungry?
