Home prices in Northern Virginia remained a defining point of contrast with the national market. The median sold price in the region reached $715,000 in December 2025, reflecting a 2.1% increase from December 2024. Nationally, the median existing-home sales price rose just 0.4% year over year to $405,400, underscoring the premium buyers continue to place on Northern Virginia's housing market."Northern Virginia's price growth continues to outpace the national market because demand here remains fundamentally strong," said NVAR CEO Ryan McLaughlin.
