Trump promises to respond after Pakistan's PM proposes ceasefire deal ahead of deadline

Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif proposed a two-week ceasefire in the Iran war, requesting that President Donald Trump extend his 8 p.m. ET Tuesday deadline to allow diplomacy to proceed. Via a post on X , Sharif called on Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz for two weeks as a goodwill gesture and urged all warring parties to observe a ceasefire. Sharif stated diplomatic efforts are "progressing steadily, strongly and powerfully with the potential to lead to substantive results in the near future." White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed on Fox News that Trump is aware of Pakistan's proposal, stating "a response will come." The proposal offers an alternative to Trump's threat to destroy Iran's civilization if the country fails to meet his deadline by Tuesday night. Watch the video below.
