Ultimum Limited Launches State-of-the-Art Beverage Plant in Aba, Boosting Jobs, Industry
Ultimum Limited, a rapidly growing food and beverage manufacturer, has officially commissioned its new beverage production facility in Aba, Abia State, signaling a major milestone for both the company and the Kadji Group. Situated in the Osisioma Industrial Layout, the facility will produce high-quality variants of the company’s flagship Razzl brand of carbonated soft drinks, including Razzl Pamplemousse—a distinctive grapefruit flavor—Razzl Cola, Razzl Orange, and Razzl Lemon. The commissioning of the plant is expected to create employment opportunities, support local businesses, and strengthen supply chains across Nigeria’s South-East and South-South regions, with plans already underway to expand distribution nationwide. The investment reflects growing confidence in the region’s business climate and infrastructure, positioning Aba as a hub for large-scale industry. Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti OFR, described the investment as a clear signal of economic revival and a boost to investor confidence in the state. “Aba is alive again! What we are witnessing here today is not just the opening of a factory, but the return of belief in our economy,” he said. “This investment confirms that we are creating the right conditions for businesses to grow, thrive, and succeed. Investors will always go where there is clarity, stability, and opportunity. Today’s commissioning shows that the strategy is working.” Mr. Whalen Kadji, Chairman of Ultimum Limited and representative of the investor group, emphasized the company’s long-term commitment to Aba and Nigeria. “We did not come here by chance,” he said. “We came because of the energy and entrepreneurial spirit of Aba. This city has always been a center of enterprise, and we believe strongly in its future. This plant is more than an investment in beverages; it is an investment in people, in jobs, and in the growth of local industry. We are here for the long term, and this is just the beginning of what we intend to build here.” Managing Director of Ultimum Limited, Mr. Austin Ufomba, highlighted the broader significance of the facility for the company’s mission and the Nigerian economy. “Ultimum Limited started with a simple idea: to build world-class products right here in Africa. Today, that idea has come to life in a very real way,” he said. “This plant is not just infrastructure; it is a platform for innovation, job creation, and excellence. It sends a strong message that Nigeria can produce at global standards. Beyond the products, we are creating opportunities for young people, supporting communities, and contributing to the economic growth of Nigeria and the African continent. That is what this investment truly represents.” The launch of the Ultimum Limited plant underscores the potential for government reforms and private sector investment to transform regional economies. Improved infrastructure, coupled with entrepreneurial energy, is positioning Aba as an attractive destination for industrial investment. The plant also expands Ultimum Limited’s footprint in the Nigerian beverage sector and brings its “Refreshing Nigeria” mission to life, with bold flavors, affordability, and deep market reach driving its competitiveness. Ultimum Limited, headquartered in Lagos with its manufacturing center in Aba, is part of the Kadji Group, a diversified business conglomerate with over 50 years of experience across Africa. The company, which started operations in Nigeria in 2022, positions itself as a “Future Beverages Company,” focused on delivering innovative, high-quality alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks tailored to evolving consumer needs. Since the launch of its Razzl brand in 2023, Ultimum Limited has introduced several variants, including Razzl Cola, Orange, Lemon, and the unique Razzl Pamplemousse. The brand is currently produced in seven SKUs: Razzl Pamplemousse 40cl, Razzl Cola 40cl and 60cl, Razzl Orange 40cl and 60cl, and Razzl Lemon 40cl and 60cl.
